Personally I use content creation that result in organic listings in Google and other search engines. Social media is also a great source of traffic.
Are you building a list? Another great way to get people to come back to your site.

I would stay away from traffic generating websites… like you say, the traffic will not be targeted…
I rather have 10 relevant visitors that purchase from me than 100.000 visitors without any interest in my site.

I have considered joining a traffic generating website however I am sceptical as the traffic wont necessarily be relevant or my target audience, and thus wouldn’t result in sales via my site.
