Hi Lily,

Absolutely agree. Create a broad mom blog and then focus in on specific subniches that you discover along the way is a great way to find a suitable niche. You might have a great idea but when you start writing about it you might not be as passionate about it as you thought... Keep writing try different subniches and focus in on the ones that really resonates with you.

Let me know how things goes Lily,

Vicky

Hi Vicky,

Thanks so much for writing this. Because we now have so many mommy blogs, focusing on a sub niche is definitely the way to go for faster success.

The problem is many moms like me don't know where to focus just yet. In such a case, do you think writing on random topics till we find the one we want could work? I know it takes longer but better than choosing a subniche and finding out later that you don't really want to be there.

What do you think?

Hi Rina,

Thank you for sharing that with us. That is the "problem" with general blogging. It will take a lot of visitors/followers to make a decent income. It will take a long time for most to gain that big crowd. Like you say it`s not very effective, looking from a business stand point.
Focusing on one niche and creating an authority website within that, will bring you financial success quicker than general blogging.

I do wish you the best of luck and if you have any questions at all I will be happy to help you out,

Hi Vicky, what you said is really true. I started out blogging by writing random things that come across my mind. I insert affiliate links here and there within the posts and hoping somebody will click on that link to buy things off my site.
Yeah, well, it may happen eventually, if you have big enough blog, and maybe big enough followers.
But I found it not effective, ermm... at least for me.

Now I start fresh, focusing on one niche, and trying to build an authority website. I chose a subtopic of breastfeeding as my niche and aim to educate my readers with useful info. Please wish me luck that I can achieve bigger success with this route.
