5 Tips to Get More Comments on Your Blog
1. Make it Easy to Comment
Don`t make people sign into their Blogger account or Facebook account to leave a comment. Make it easy. If you have too many requirements or log ins people will just click away and not bother leaving a comment.
You want to remove any obstacles, makes it simple and easy to leave a comment. If you use WordPress, most themes makes this easy.
2. Ask Your Readers to Interact
At the end of your blog post ask your readers a question or invite them to comment. All it takes sometimes is something like ”We would love to hear from you, what`s your thoughts on this?” or ”Feel free to chim in below in the comment section”
Welcome and encourage comments.
3. Answer the Comments
If people take the time to leave a comment or ask a question, don`t ignore it. Answer the questions and respond to the comments.
You want a conversation going and this can only happen if you chim in and answer. Overtime your readers will comment on each others comments, but in the beginning as a blog owner you will most likely have to respond.
4. Friendly Comments Welcomed
If people are rude and getting out of hand don`t approve the comments. Know what your comment policy is and stick with that. People can be very rude, it doesn`t mean you have to approve their comments. Your blog, your rules.
This doesn`t mean you can`t disagree about things. There`s a big difference between having different opinions and being rude and nasty.
In fact, I love when people disagree with me, it sparks conversation.
5. Use a Comment Counter
If others see that you have a lot of comments then they might be more willing to chim in and comment. You can make it easy for your readers to see the comment counter. Most WordPress themes comes with it but if it doesn`t there are WordPress plugins that you can use.
