Article marketing is used to get you more visitors to your website. This is done by writing articles related to your website content using a link back to your website in either the article or author box.
The reason why this is so popular is that the article directories where you submit your articles are ranking well in the search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. You use the popularity of the article directory to get your own article ranked in the search engines.
This means that you can get visitors that are searching the article directory it self but also from your articles ranking in the search engines.
How Do I Use Article Marketing To Get Visitors?
This is how it works. You write an article related to your website content. You then submit that article to an article directory with a link back to your own website.
By doing this you will get:
- Visitors from the article to your own website through the link.
- A link back to your website, which Google sees as a ”vote” for your site.
Obviously the more articles you have out there the more visitors. The better your article ranks in the search engines the more visitors.
How Do I Write an Article?
The number one thing to think about when writing articles is that it should be helpful for the reader. Keep your article relevant to your website content and help your readers with whatever they are looking for.
Say you have a site about ”dog obedience” you can then write an article about ”how to train a dog to sit” and link that back to some relevant content on your site.
To get the search engines to rank your site under keywords that you want them to you can use these keywords throughout the article. Say your keyword is ”how to train a dog to sit” then I would use that in the title, first and last paragraph. My article would be around 400 – 500 words.
Where Do I Submit My Articles?
There are many different article directories where you can submit your articles. Here are 5 directories that I use myself:
- Ezinearticles.com
- Streetarticles.com
- Sooperarticles.com
- Goarticles.com
- Isnare.com
These are all free to submit your articles to, Isnare do have a paid version that I use. See the whole article directory list here.
You can also submit your articles to 2.0 sites. These are like small webpages where you can add pictures, polls and other fun things to get your visitors to interact. Squidoo and Hubpages are two 2.0 examples.
How Does This Benefit Over Time?
The great thing with using article marketing is that it grows over time. If you submit only two articles a week you will have over 100 articles pointing back to your site within a year. This is FREE traffic to your site.
