There is a process to making money online. Nothing complicated but if you are just starting out you need to understand the basics of this.
Think about your own last purchase online what was the flow the process that you went through from search in the search engines to purchase? It might have been very similar to this:
Your audience will search for something in the search engines let`s use Google for this example. You want to show up on the first page of Google with your website so that people searching for what you offer will find YOUR site. We call that organic listing when you show up in Google and other search engines. You want to rank high up on that first page so that the visitor pick your site over your competitors.
When they land on your page they will engage and read your content as long as you offer what they are looking for. They will read your content and maybe click one of the links that happens to be an affiliate link. This link will take them to a merchant site where you are signed up as an affiliate. One example is Amazon. If they click through to Amazon and purchase something then you will get paid a commission for that.
Amazon will reward me with a commission because I send them a customer. It is really a win win situation. They don`t pay if the customer don`t buy anything so for them it`s a great set up. You get paid when there is a purchase made.
Here is a possible flow:
Audience - Google - Your Website - Affiliate Link - Amazon - Commission
